PERSONAL INFORMATION

Terry Francona has been around professional baseball all his life. He is the son of former journeyman Tito Francona and played ten years of professional ball at the Major Leagues with Montreal, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Milwaukee. Francona has eight years of experience as a major league manager, managing the Philadelphia Phillies from 1997-2000 and his current position with the Red Sox. In his first season in Boston, Francona was a key piece of the puzzle to bringing the World Series trophy back to Boston for the first time in 86 years. Four years later, in 2007, he managed the Red Sox to their second championship in four years and became the first team, this century, to win multiple World Series. Francona is married to Jacque Lang and have four children together, Nick (7/11/85), Alyssa (4/7/87), Leah (1/27/90) and Jamie (11/24/93). His son Nick was left handed pitcher for the University of Pennsylvania Quakers baseball team while daughter Alyssa is a third baseman for University of North Carolina Tar Heels softball.
