Starting Line-Ups for April 2, 2008 against the Oakland Athletics
J.D. Drew makes his first appearance of the 2008 season, batting sixth, when the Sox take on the Athletics at 3:35pm EST at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland, California. Drew sat out of games one and two, in Japan, as well as last night's game three because of back spasms. Terry Francona also elects to give Jacoby Ellsbury the day off by playing Coco Crisp in center field and batting eighth. Sitting Ellsbury today is good. It not only gives him a chance to rest but it also show cases Crisp as a starting center fielder for possible trades in June and July. Alex Cora also gets the start, replacing Julio Lugo the day game after the night game.
RED SOX:
(0-1, 9.00 ERA, 4K, 3BB, 2.00 WHIP)
ATHLETICS:
(1-0, 1.50 ERA, 9K, 3BB, 1.00 WHIP)
